Come to sterilized.

June 17-30 1996 Westbrook ME Big Sound: recording Come to Sterilized.

Matt - Barely two days after finishing tour #3, we gather up musician Aaron Martinez(who I had never met), food, pot, booze, and nicer guitars courtesy of Jeff Turlik, and headed back to Westbrook, ME to record once again. Colin Decker engineering, and he was able to borrow a portable Hammond B3, clavinet, and a Rhodes electric piano. Joining us in making the music would be Carol, Roman, Jeff Turlik, and George Tsiaras.

Some days were much more fruitful than others. I was often distracted by everyone else, the party atmosphere,  and overwhelming task of making something good in a short time. The night that Colin took off to play a wedding was the only night that I tripped acid, but after he came back and realized that we had not really done that much damage Zeph and I hit a groove. With only myself on bass and Zeph behind the drums, we laid the basic tracks for about half the record in about an hour and a half. For me that was among the best moments.

In the end there were over 80 pieces that we recorded and then from that we made over 30 songs, and used 27 of them for the album. But I was tired and broke and we got stuck in Boston for the next couple years.
