Zeph - We didn’t know the Sterilized songs yet. We had a barrage of gear malfunctions, the band was thrown together. Matt was singing, I was playing drums, Aaron Martinez and George Tsiaris on guitar and Roman on bass. Carol didn’t want to play with us. She was pissed. Jeff Turlik sat in on electric piano.
Matt - This show was a lot of fun: to play a bunch of new songs that the players barely knew, but it didn’t matter, these are Chevy Heston songs.

Z - By this time we were back with Carol. Aaron and Roman had stuck around, Matt playing guitar and me on drums. I think that was the line-up for this show.

Z - This was Roman’s last show with us. Not really a show. It sounded awful. The equipment was a mess and we sang poorly. The mix was bad. It was in Lowell. Cold and raining.
M - Roman was ready to move on, but he did this one last show with us on the radio and got completely naked. We busted strings and of course had no backup guitars. We were well rehearsed, but I was drunk and pretty unprofessional. Zeph’s girlfriend recorded it for us though and here’s an edit:

Thursday, November 14 1996 Cambridge MA TT the Bear’s w/Varnalene
Z - This must have been Andre Delbos’ first show with us but I don’t remember it. Matt and I had known him in high school. Played in a couple of bands together. He moved to New York but came back so it was good to play with him again. I think Pansy Division was supposed to play on this one too, but canceled again.

Z - This show sucked. I bet we sucked too but I can’t really remember. We played to the bartender while UnSane and Season to Risk smoked pot backstage. Aaron renamed Season to Risk, Challenge to Mix.
