4th tour ends.
Wednesday, April 30 1997
Matt - Zeph wanted to hook up with this girl Liz, and I didn’t really give a shit not to go to Kentucky. Liz’ mom took pity on us and treated us to an awesome dinner in their beautiful Grosse Isle home. But I felt like an intruder anyway and just wanted to get the hell out and end this tour.
Carol - we canceled our show in kentucky and just hung out at liz’ mom’s nice big house over-looking Canada. she made us all breakfast and bought like 8 cd’s from us for her teenage sons and her boyfriend’s kids. the tour’s almost over, just one more show in morgantown. zeph went grocery shopping for dinner and was gone forever but came back and cooked up a good meal. matt and i got into a fight over something probably becuz i was really hungry which makes me really cranky always. but we made up. we played nintendo with liz’ brothers. there was a commotion about who gets the bedroom between matt and zeph. me and matt ended up sleeping in the van. i’m ready for this tour to be over.
Thursday, May 1 1997 Morgantown WV Nyabinghi w/Men’s Club
M - This Men’s Cub was great. They even had a bass player with a broken arm or something and it still was great. We bonded over similar tour experiences.
Tom Galbraith, Men’s Club drummer, and I eventually met up in New York about 5 years later and played together in the Blank Stares, with Carlos DeLeon from the Jinkies, another band that we played with in Austin a few tours before this. Zeph - Mens Club from San Francisco are my favorite band we’ve ever seen on the road.
C - the last stop on this tour. it was great to see Greg as usual. the band we are playing with tonight, men's club is from san francisco. so i talked about SF with them and it ends up that they got hooked up with speed in denver from the same person who gave it to us. we all had a good laugh over that . they left kinda early for their next show. we, on the other hand, had nowhere else to go but home so we stayed late and celebrated. greg spoiled us as he always does. we got really drunk and zeph lost a bet on pool. it cost us $10. aaron stayed sober becuz he wanted to drive. we left around 6 or so.
