Tuesday, July 8 1997 Denver CO - Lion’s Lair w/ the Ted Bundy Band
Zeph - We were expecting this one to be bad and by most standards it was but it was made better by several things. The Lion’s Lair really likes us now and has pity on us and treats us like official members with stiff drinks and frozen pizzas.
Ted Bundy Band were absolutely on it! Bass player had the ASSASSINATION pants on again and some people who knew us from Salt Lake were there. We played about as well as we ever have and we were out of Denver immediately, on a twenty two hour drive to Minnesota.
Carol - we were expecting something from this place becuz of last time. but we found something new, the ted bundy band. we still got good drinks and were treated well and the ted bundy band was really cool. we met a girl named carrie from utah. i was in the bathroom doing my makeup when she came up to me and said she just moved here from salt lake and her boyfriend’s a big fan. it turns out carrie’s boyfriend’s the one who made that big poster when we played with surly. she was sweet. she said we could stay with her next time we come through. she’s half japanese and half german and she reminded me of otto from the art institute who’s also half japanese and half german. the singer from ted bundy band gave todd the hat he was wearing. we were in good spirits.
